Within the framework of the Project Writing Camp on #HorizonEurope Twinning Calls organized by TÜBİTAK, the enCRYPTON Project was presented as an inspiring success story on 17 February 2026. Coordinated by Sabancı University through SUATT and the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS), enCRYPTON was implemented over a three-year period and marked the university’s first Twinning project. The project was carried out in collaboration with Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, and Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt. Prof. Dr. Erkay Savaş, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, delivered an engaging presentation highlighting the project’s development journey, key achievements, and its contribution to institutional capacity building.
During the session, the project’s consolidated results were also briefly highlighted. Over its three-year implementation, enCRYPTON strengthened Sabancı University’s scientific excellence in privacy-enhancing technologies and homomorphic encryption, increased high-impact research outputs, and fostered new EU project initiatives. The project also enabled international staff exchanges, formalised strategic partnerships with leading European institutions, and delivered targeted capacity-building activities with the support of SUATT.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, offering participants practical insights into the project’s implementation and success factors. By complementing the thematic training with a concrete real-world example, the event provided valuable inspiration for participants aiming to develop competitive Twinning proposals and strengthen international collaboration.
